After WWII the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) was splintered and in 1947 the National Security Act created the Central Intelligence Agency from one of those pieces. With mounting fears of falling behind in the cold war the Central Intelligence Agency Act was passed which allowed the CIA to conceal its activities from investigation. With this cloak the project MKULTRA could flourish it was responsible for numerous operations ranging from chemical interrogation to mind control on American citizens. Millions of dollars were pored into projects that involved implanting recording devices in cats to use as eavesdropping device to having prostitutes drug there costumers with LSD while CIA agents watched and recorded the preceding for any militaristic use. The CIA still continues to this day to operate in inhuman ways currently in the Abu Ghraib detention center.

In order to stop and regulate practices by the CIA that would be inhuman or questionable in practice it is of the most pressing essentiality to bring about transparency and power limits through direct governmental over sight. This would be done through presidential, senate and judicial reviews as well as approval to conduct any action or receive any founding. By enacting this proposed system the Un-American treatment of Americans and others will not happen again. Some work has been does in order to manage the actions and transparency of the CIA, with the formation of The Church committee, The Rockefeller commission and the standing Senate committee on intelligence, steps are being made but there is still more to be done.

Defense of Food write up:

People eat unhealthy food that will eventually end them because they are disinterested and apathetic. They are fine being in a self-destructive downward spiral as long as they have their happy meals, cheetos, soda, artificial factory “food”. It is their choice to eat what they eat no one is forcing them to, there are alternatives that are accessible but they chose not to, dietary ignorance is bliss for them. The government should stop the false advertising that is companies passing off chemical ridden food like stuff and have them labeled as non food products or people should have the right to sue that for damages and false advertising. The government has an obligation to stop food companies from selling a product that damages the body without the consumer’s knowledge the same way that they label cigarettes.

The question that we set out to answer was is if someone looked respectable and had a relevant plea would they receive money from begging. This experiment was intended to look at what might trigger sympathy. We can see of no consequences from leaving this question unresolved. This was an exploratory project. Some of the variables considered were the people who were giving the money to me and my ability to effectively pan handle. A second subject posing as a normal bum I think would be the best way to gage my success comparatively and would lead to more conclusive data make for a better experiment over all. The hypothesis behind our experiment was that a well-dressed individual with a reasonable plea would be very successful at pan handling. This would look at the basis of sympathy from strangers through monetary acknowledgement. From the parameters of the experiment I think that the respectable individual would make a good deal of money because people would feel safer, empathy and understanding with giving money. The method of research was experimental participant observation witch fit the essential question perfectly and offered deliberation on the hypothesis. I pan handled for approximately 30 min accumulating 8 dollars and some odd cents, making that an hourly wage of 16 dollars. I received money about every third set of car at the stop light where I was pan handling. In those sets were about 4 to 8 cars. This could be conducted on the sidewalk in the city where there might be more contact leading to more response.

From this experiment it became apparent that there is a direct relationship between the presentation of the panhandler and their success as one through the sympathy of others. The way I was dressed was business attire clean cut and well composed. The sign I used to ask for money with read “Lost it all in recession wife & baby need help god bless.” Those words were chosen to play on the ethos and pathos having the most impact in order to create sympathy, understanding as well as moral obligation. From the results of the experiment it seems to have achieved what was theorized. I think if this experiment model would to be conducted with a second panhandler for comparison and in a more densely populated setting the results would be much clearer.

Bounding into the room after a slight mix up, exuding confidence Novalena Betancourt with the vocal equivalent being photogenic precede to opened her self up to any questions from the classroom of students. Novalena’s parents told her that her name means shooting star. She grew up in the suburbs out side of San Francisco, raised in a catholic house even though she now identifies her self as being spiritual, not religious though she believes in God as the master of the universe. Both of her parents come from the island of Puerto Rico and she is very close with them especially her father. She has a history of neurological chemical imbalances in her family, seeming to lead to a compensation in positive attitude.

She attended the local high school where she met her boyfriend and longest relationship lasting of 6 years there. She maintained A+ grades in high school while still be quite social, she recounted mutilating her self with a red hot lighter in order to obtain the peer approving branding of a smiley face on her arms. After high school she was accepted to UC Berkley and UC Davis, she chose Davis where her high school boy friend going at the time for a number of reasons. Upon graduation from Davis Novalena went backpacking in Europe for six weeks. After this experience she decided to stay close to her family and stay on the west coast choosing to move to San Diego where she worked briefly in real-estate there as a chief team builder for a large tech company. Also during this time she contributed in writing a self-help book and worked as a radio DJ that helped to spur her to write.

She has just written a self-help book of her own called the total female package. She hopes to build her self as another Oprah like figure. She mused about in her future marrying some one that saw her as being perfect without her having to change any thing about her self. She hopes to have a house by the ocean with many children off her own production and adopted, she called this her Brady bunch family. In this family she and her husband would be the model marriage and parents. Novalena is a bright eyed and ambitious young woman with many aspirations with good prospects of fruition.

America is being Un-american

America was all about mind your own business, kicking out the British, making a bill of rights, setting up a government that is not completely oppressive and I’m all for killing Nazis but should we shouldn't be the world police. Empires are what America was spouse to be getting away from not instating its self as. We shouldn't be subjected to the delusions of old power hungry men of the 50's setting up a system of perpetual conflict in order to support the military industrial complex (Google that shit man) Americans aren't forced to do what another country says so how can we justifies doing that even under the guise of liberation. I thought I was in America.

Bartter and the real world

When Bartter the supposedly flying dog approached the edge of the skyscraper, his young and naive owner hopped on the dog and donned his orange turban which he applied false values and unattainable hopes to it, those being an endowment to whom ever has it on their head the ability of flight. The duo took a great leap from the edge and hung motionless talking in the vast beauty of the cities skyline. The fallowing second something unexpected happened the vicious hands of gravity pulled them with all force back to the earth. You may ask your self “but why? The little boy had his magic flying hat on his head.” Yes he did not is dog whom he was clinging to causing him to fall down to the hard ground, where sick and deprived hooligans garnished the area around the lifeless bodies with snow flakes.

Turn 10038 April 2004

Samson De Fontaine stepped through the turn style to his next appointment, his safe house a high risk under ground roulette club where the game is played with lives, not chips. His day started like any other, he walked out the door, to the corner of the street to pick up a copy of the Wall street Journal. He was on his way to his job as a high power stockbroker but today he was going to be trading on the floor. The reason for this is that the previous day to dump all his National Steel shares and buy as much AMR. Inc (The American Metal Refinement Corporation) shares as he could because there was going to be a rapid take over the fallowing Monday. This was going to be a government backed nationalization of all American steel fronted by a puppet merger; this nationalization was the last piece of the governments monopolization of weapons production. The Chinese desperately needed American weapons and in the late 1950’s started the concubines for arms agreement, struck by Ted Kennedy in a back room agreement insuring all high-ranking government officials at least 5 concubines. This tip off came form Samson’s long time friend and investment firm client Harrison Ford.

Samson went through with the trade and stood to make around 4.5 million on the initial profit. As he was about to go up to his office two men in black suits begin to walk briskly after him. Samson made a brake for the door. The black suits pursued him, as they did Harrison Ford pushed past them saying “I’ll take care of this,” they relented and he went after Samson. Samson was just to fast for Harrison and drastically out ran him. With Harrison out of sight Samson got on the closes subway to go somewhere safe.
